Inauguration Day

I made my way down Route 29 towards DC around 6am on Wednesday, January 20th. Besides extreme security, I wasn’t really sure what to expect or if I could even get into the city. I just knew that I wanted to document the measures put into place after the January 6th riots. I was able to park around 6 or 7 blocks from the capitol and from there walked around. There were armed guards throughout and an extreme sense of tension in the air. A few joggers went by and some people were walking their dogs but besides that it was a ghost-town within the security perimeters. It was a very stark contrast to the celebrations I witnessed 2 months earlier.

Photos shot on a Sony A7C with a 24-105mm f/4 G lens.
